Nigerian forward, Tolu Arokodare, delivered a standout performance on Thursday, scoring twice to help KRC Genk secure a 2-2 draw against Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Jupiler League.
The thrilling encounter saw Royal Antwerp initially take control when Gyrano Kerk opened the scoring in the 9th minute.
However, Tolu Arokodare responded swiftly, finding the back of the net in the 12th minute to level the match.
Kerk struck again in the 32nd minute to restore Antwerp’s lead, but Arokodare was not done yet. The 24-year-old scored his second goal in the 51st minute, ensuring the game ended in a hard-fought draw.
Arokodare’s performance underscores his impressive form this season. With 20 league appearances, he has netted 13 goals and contributed four assists, surpassing his tally from last season, where he scored 12 goals in 40 games.
This brace also marks consecutive games with goals for the prolific striker, solidifying his position as a key player for KRC Genk.
The result leaves Genk with 42 points, maintaining their position at the top of the league table, just three points ahead of second-place Club Brugge.
Despite the draw, Arokodare’s heroics continue to highlight his potential as one of the standout talents in the league this season.
