Nigeria star Victor Osimhen keen on Arsenal move as Gunners hold talks with Galatasaray
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly keen on joining Arsenal, with the Premier League giants understood to have opened discussions over a potential move for the Nigeria international this summer.
Osimhen has once again emerged on Arsenal’s radar as negotiations between the Gunners and Galatasaray continue, with the two clubs discussing a number of potential deals involving their players.
According to reports, talks between Arsenal and the Turkish champions have included the possibility of Osimhen moving to the Emirates Stadium, although no agreement has been reached at this stage.
The development could give Arsenal renewed hope of securing one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers, particularly with the Nigerian reportedly open to the prospect of moving to north London.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several years and has consistently attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The 27-year-old has built a reputation as one of the continent’s most dangerous centre-forwards, combining explosive pace with physical strength, aerial ability and an instinctive eye for goal.
His profile is understood to appeal strongly to Arsenal as the club continues to assess options for strengthening its attacking department.
The current discussions with Galatasaray are also complicated by the fact that the clubs are already in contact over other players.
Arsenal and the Turkish side have been discussing potential deals involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, creating an avenue for further negotiations over Osimhen’s future.
While the talks are still at an exploratory stage, the Nigerian striker’s reported desire to join Arsenal could become an important factor if the London club decides to push forward with a formal proposal.
Osimhen has enjoyed considerable success since moving to Galatasaray and remains one of the most highly valued attacking players in European football.
For Arsenal, signing the Nigeria international would represent a major statement of intent and potentially provide Mikel Arteta with an elite goalscoring option capable of leading the line at the highest level.
However, with no agreement currently in place, significant negotiations would still be required before Osimhen could make the move to the Premier League.
For now, Arsenal’s interest is genuine, Galatasaray remain involved in discussions and Osimhen is reportedly eager to see the possibility of a move to the Emirates explored further.
