Nigeria star Victor Boniface receives support from former Werder Bremen Star amid goal drought
Nigeria international striker Victor Boniface has received strong backing from former Werder Bremen star Claudio Pizarro, as he continues to search for his first goal at the Bundesliga club.
Boniface, who joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, has yet to find the back of the net.
Despite the goal drought, the former football star remain confident in the Nigerian’s ability to make an impact.
Pizarro, who scored 153 goals for the club, encouraged Boniface to remain patient and focused.
“He’s in a difficult phase at the moment, but he just has to keep working to show his quality again,” Pizarro explained.
“Hopefully, he’ll start scoring at Werder; that would be very important for both sides. When he scores, then hopefully a lot of goals will come.”
Since joining the German outfit in the summer, the 24-year-old has made nine appearances across competitions, but is yet to score or assist a goal.
