Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi open to Galatasaray move if Leicester suffer relegation
Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is reportedly considering a summer move to Turkish club Galatasaray, especially if the Foxes are relegated from the Premier League.
Leicester currently sit 19th in the table with nine games left to play. Their chances of survival look slim, and if they drop to the Championship, Ndidi is expected to seek a transfer.
According to Turkish-Football.com, the Nigerian international is keen to avoid playing in the second division and is open to offers from clubs competing in the Champions League.
Galatasaray have been linked with a move and could provide him with top-level European football next season.
Ndidi has been a key figure for Leicester since joining in 2017, making 295 appearances, scoring 18 goals, and providing 21 assists. Despite his loyalty to the club, he is reportedly prepared to explore other options if Leicester’s relegation is confirmed.
The report suggests Galatasaray would be interested in signing the 28-year-old to strengthen their midfield. They often prefer a strong defensive midfielder in their squad, and Ndidi could be a valuable addition.
If Leicester are relegated, a transfer fee of around £15 million could be enough to convince manager Ruud van Nistelrooy to let him go.
