Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has vowed to do everything possible to ensure Galatasaray emerge champions in the Turkish Super Lig this season.
Osimhen delivered an outstanding performance to help Galatasaray secure a point against Kasimpasa on Sunday.
The in-demand Nigeria attacker netted a brace in a six-goal thriller as Galatasaray settled for a draw against Kasimpasa at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadyumu.
Osimhen started and played full throttle of the match, contributing significantly to his outfit 3-3 away stalemate against Kasimpasa on Sunday afternoon.
“I would say disappointment. That’s the best way to put it. We fought against an effective opponent. “I’m proud of my teammates for their efforts. Football is like that sometimes,” he was quoted by Galatasaray’s official website.
“This is a really tough league. You have to fight well from the first minute to the last minute. You can be punished very quickly. We continue in the championship race. We have all the quality needed to win.
“I love this team very much. I love my teammates very much, too. I want to do everything for success. I want to support them. “I think my friends have the same mentality, it doesn’t matter if they are in the first 11 or on the bench, it is very important for everyone to fight together”
“We feel united with our coach, as players, and with our fans. Sometimes, even if I don’t score, I mark and help the defense. I want to support my team no matter what. “At the end of the day, we fight to win. We will go into every match to get 3 points and we are the biggest candidate for the championship.”
Kasimpasa were handed an early scare after Osimhen converted from the spot to give Galatasaray the lead after just 11 minutes.
The home team responded with an equalizer after the break, with Mortadha Ben Ouannes leveling the scores in the 52nd minute mark.
In 61st-minute, Kasimpasa extended their lead in the match through Josip Brekalo before Davinson Sánchez restored parity for the visitors in the 69th-minute.
Two-minutes later, Osimhen found the back of the net again, restoring Galatasaray’s lead in the thrilling clash.
However, Haris Hajradinovic’s strike from the spot in the 85th-minute mark ensured the game ended in a 3-3 draw.
Osimhen has been impressive since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli. The 26-year-old has scored 22 goals and provided 5 assists from 28 matches this season.
