Nigeria international Victor Boniface has sent a cryptic message following his failed move to Italian giants AC Milan in the current transfer window.
Boniface came close to joining the Serie A giants following an agreement with German giants Bayer Leverkusen.
AC Milan had agreed a €5m loan fee as well as a €24m purchase clause for the acquisition of the Nigeria international forward. However, Boniface reported medical failure has undermined his potential switch this summer.
Boniface has already returned to the German side, while Milan will continue their search for a striker.
However, the forward has responded to his failed move with a cryptic message on social media, captioned, “Clowns everywhere.”
The 24-year-old striker has been in the books of Leverkusen since 2023, with his current contract expected to elapse in summer 2028. Since joining Leverkusen, the Nigeria international has made 61 appearances in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and delivering 12 assists across the period.
Boniface has 14 appearances and scored just a goal for the Nigeria national team since making his debut in October 2023.
