Nigeria international Ademola Lookman is set to spend time on the sidelines following an injury setback.
Lookman, who is set to depart Atalanta in the ongoing summer transfer window reportedly sustained a calf injury during training last Wednesday.
The in-demand attacker initially complained of a discomfort in his calf, but began experiencing increasing pain when kicking the ball. He is scheduled to undergo a medical examination to determine the nature of the injury.
The severity of the injury is yet to be determined. However, the winger is expected to sit out of Atalanta training for the time being.
Lookman is on Atalanta’s list of potential summer departures, having reached a full agreement with Inter Milan to join the club, but the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement.
Inter made an initial offer of €40 million, but Atalanta value the player at €50 million, and the Nerazzurri are counting on the player’s desire to leave and join the team to put pressure on the club’s management.
