Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman empties locker at Atalanta in latest action to push for Inter move
Ademola Lookman has taken his most decisive step yet in forcing a move to Inter Milan, clearing out his locker at Atalanta’s Zingonia training centre, according to reports from Sky Sport Italia.
The 27-year-old Nigerian international is intensifying efforts to leave the Bergamo club after submitting a formal transfer request over the weekend.
Lookman’s desire to join Serie A rivals Inter comes amid growing frustration over what he describes as unmet promises by Atalanta’s management.
In a strongly-worded Instagram post, the reigning African Player of the Year accused the club of breaking a prior agreement that would have allowed him to leave if a suitable offer arrived.
He further claimed that he had been mistreated “as a human being and as a professional footballer.”
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has acknowledged that while there was an informal understanding in place, it did not extend to domestic transfers, adding that the club would only consider offers from outside Italy. That position has become a key stumbling block in negotiations with Inter.
As tensions escalate, Lookman has now skipped two consecutive training sessions and reportedly removed all his personal items from the dressing room, an action described as symbolic of a total breakdown in relations.
Inter Milan, who have already agreed personal terms with the forward on a contract running until 2030 worth €4.5 million annually plus bonuses, have seen their €45 million bid—including add-ons—rejected. Atalanta are holding firm on a €50 million valuation.
