Nigeria international Semi Ajayi is set to spend time on the sidelines following an injury setback at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Ajayi, who plies his trade for English Championship club, Hull City succumbed to a hamstring injury in third-place clash between Nigeria and Egypt, where the Super Eagles emerged victorious on penalties.
The rock-solid defender limped off the pitch during stoppage time, immediately sparking concerns about the severity of the issue.
Following scans, the enterprising defender has damage his hamstring and is expected to sit out for approximately seven weeks, ruling him out of several crucial fixtures for Hull City. This come as a huge blow for the Championship club, as the season takes shape.
Ajayi enjoyed an amazing tournament with the Super Eagles, featuring in almost all the matches for his side. He was named the Man of the Match in Nigeria’s opening game against Tanzania.
