Nigeria centre-forward John Mbachu lands at Dayrout SC after free move
Nigeria centre-forward John Mbachu has joined Dayrout SC from A. Abo Qir on a free transfer, adding a 30-year-old attacker to the Egyptian club’s squad.
Mbachu’s move was completed on 15 August 2026 after his spell with A. Abo Qir came to an end. No transfer fee was involved in the switch, which marks the latest stage of the forward’s career in Egypt.
The striker spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Golden Gate after moving there from A. Abo Qir in January. That temporary spell concluded on 30 June, when he returned to A. Abo Qir before making his next move a little over six weeks later.
Mbachu made two appearances in the Egypt Cup during the recorded campaign, playing a total of 203 minutes. He operates primarily as a centre-forward and arrives at Dayrout SC with previous experience of Egyptian football through spells at A. Abo Qir, Golden Gate and El Minya.
The Nigerian began his time at A. Abo Qir in January 2024 after leaving El Minya. Before that, he had played for Niger Tornadoes, making his move to El Minya at the beginning of 2023.
Mbachu’s arrival gives Dayrout SC an experienced Nigerian option in attack as the club prepares for the next phase of the season. His latest transfer was completed without a fee, and he is now a Dayrout SC player.
