Nigeria captain Williams Troost-Ekong made an injury return for Al Kholood in win over Al Khaleej in the Saudi Professional League.
The experienced defender has been out of action since February 14 after picking up an injury against Al-Orobah FC in a league match.
Ekong marked his return to the field on Saturday, contributing to his outfits 2-1 home win over their opponent.
Before this game, Ekong had missed two crucial matches against Al Wehda and Al Hilal. In his absence, Al Kholood recorded one win and one defeat.
The 32-year-old started and played full throttle of the match, held at the Ar-Rass Stadium and make an impressive return.
Al Khaleej opened the scoring through Mohamed Sherif after just 8 minutes into the match before Al Kholood staged a strong comeback to snatch victory.
The home team responded with an equalizer in the 16th-minute through Jackson Muleka before Myziane Maolida converted from the spot to seal win for the host.
Ekong has been outstanding for Al Kholood this season, starting all matches for his side prior to his injury. He has racked up 2 goals and provided an assist.
His return comes as a huge boost for the Nigeria national team ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
