Nigeria international William Troost-Ekong has hinted his compatriot, Victor Osimhen will join a Premier League club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Osimhen is set for a permanent departure from Napoli in the summer, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and other top European clubs expressing keen interest in the former Serie A goal king.
The Nigeria international is currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray after failed move to Chelsea and Al Hilal last summer.
Speaking to TalkSport, Troost-Ekong, who plies his trade in the Saudi Professional League confirmed his countryman will head to England in the summer.
“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” Troost-Ekong told TalkSport.
“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.
“I’m also reading, like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray I think it worked out amazingly for him.
“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”
Ekong then highlighted Osimhen’s ability in front of goal, insisting he can succeed at any club he joins.
“Finishing is the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, and he’ll chase down every ball. In the air he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him and he’ll hold the ball up,” Troost-Ekong said.
“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score. He’s direct so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”
The 27-year-old has racked up 26 goals and provided 5 assists in 30 appearances across competitions for Galatasaray this season.
Osimhen’s release clause at Napoli is set around €80 million this summer, having been in the region of €120m last year.
