Newcastle United eye move for Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson
Newcastle United are closely monitoring Nicolas Jackson as the striker’s future remains uncertain following his loan spell away from Chelsea FC.
The Senegal international spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich, but is not expected to remain with the German club beyond the current campaign.
A purchase option reportedly valued at around €65 million had been included in the agreement, dependent on specific playing time conditions.
However, those conditions were not met, with Jackson featuring less frequently and often operating behind Harry Kane in the attacking hierarchy.
As a result, a return to Chelsea appears the most immediate outcome, although his long-term future at the London club is far from settled.
The Blues are understood to be assessing their attacking options, and do not rule out the possibility of allowing the forward to leave again, either through a permanent transfer or a structured loan deal.
This uncertainty has opened the door for interest from elsewhere, with Newcastle United emerging as a potential destination.
Reports in England suggest the club are seriously considering a move as they look to strengthen their attacking line ahead of the next season.
Managed by Eddie Howe, Newcastle are seeking greater consistency in front of goal following a mixed campaign from several of their forwards.
Recent additions, including Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, have yet to fully meet expectations, prompting the club to explore alternative solutions in the transfer market.
Despite a campaign in Germany that yielded 10 goals, Jackson’s broader record continues to attract attention.
During his first two seasons at Chelsea, he registered 24 goals and 10 assists in 59 appearances, demonstrating his ability to contribute at a high level.
With multiple clubs assessing their attacking options, Jackson’s situation is expected to develop further as the transfer window approaches, with Newcastle among those closely following his next move.
