Nicolas Anelka, at 33 years old, has signed with an Italian club after managing to terminate his contract with Shanghai Shenhua, which was originally set to run until December 2013. Despite his previous stints with top European clubs such as PSG, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea, Anelka is embarking on a new and unexpected experience in Italy. He will join the Italian club on a five-month renewable freelance contract, as confirmed by Giuseppe Marotta, the club’s general director.
