Nicolas Jackson’s recovery from injury couldn’t have come at a better moment for Chelsea, who are chasing Europa Conference League glory and a Champions League return.
Demba Ba, a former Blue himself, is convinced the young striker has what it takes to leave a lasting mark at Stamford Bridge. On 30 June 2023, Jackson signed for Premier League club Chelsea on an eight-year deal through 2031 for a fee reported to be £32 million. On 13 August, he made his debut for the club in a 1–1 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League.
“At Villarreal, he was really good at making that final turn, and he’ll be great at Chelsea,” Ba said. “He just needs to keep working hard and remember that he has to score goals.”
Jackson’s time at Chelsea has been filled with both magical and rough moments. Still, his 14 league goals in his first season hinted at his potential. With Ba’s vote of confidence, Jackson’s poised to prove he’s the real deal.
