Franco-Cameroonian defender Yaël Nandjou is on the verge of joining newly promoted Portuguese top-flight club Alverca this summer.
The 19-year-old is joining the club as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with formative side OGC Nice. Despite breaking through, he is not expected to stay. He will leave the club upon the expiry of his deal this summer.
Nandjou is expected to sign a three-year deal at Alverca, as the club gear up for the new campaign.
The defender, who passed through the academy at Nice, made his first-team debut for Le Gym this season. He was one of the many youngsters to benefit from the injury crisis that plagued Franck Haise’s side and left him leaning on the academy, particularly in the UEFA Europa League campaign, which became something of an after-thought.
The left-back made four appearances in that competition, whilst he also made three appearances in Ligue 1 and one in the Coupe de France.
