Newly promoted French Ligue 1 outfit Paris FC have set sights on securing the services of Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 35-year-old will become a free agent next month as his contract runs out at Premier League outfit Everton.
According to reports, Paris FC are plotting an ambitious move for the experienced Senegalese international. Last year, Everton triggered a club option to extend Gueye’s contract by another year until June 2025.
Gueye made 40 appearances for Toffees in the recently concluded season, delivering three assists across the period.
Paris FC are set for a show of ambition in the summer transfer window on the back of their Ligue 1 promotion. The club’s new owners – the Arnaults, the richest family in France – have reportedly planned an €80m transfer budget to bolster the squad with first-tier experience.
Given his experience, Gueye would offer value and grit to Paris FC. The Senegal international would be in familiar territory, considering he played for Paris Saint-Germain for three seasons, between 2019 and 2022. Gueye rejoined Everton at the end of his stint with Les Parisiens. Everton FC are yet to announce whether or not Gueye will extend his stay on Merseyside.
