Newcastle United are intensifying their pursuit of Senegal and Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara as the summer transfer window approaches.

Camara, who has impressed since joining Monaco in the summer of 2024, has quickly established himself as a key figure in the Principality club’s midfield.

This season, Camara’s appearances have been limited to 23 games in all competitions due to injury setbacks. His presence clearly makes a significant difference to the team’s performance.

Newcastle’s interest in Camara is long-standing, and sources reveal that Monaco would not oppose a sale this summer.

However, the club is under no pressure to sell, having already offloaded George Ilenkihena for €33m in January. Reports suggest that any deal for Camara would require a substantial bid from the Premier League side to convince Monaco to part ways with their star midfielder.

Camara’s potential move to St. James’ Park would represent a significant signing for Newcastle as they look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the next Premier League campaign.

The coming months are expected to be crucial as talks progress and both clubs assess the feasibility of a transfer.
