English Premier League club, Newcastle United, are pushing to tie down Swedish forward of Eritrean descent Alexander Isak with a new deal.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, the Magpies are increasingly confident that Isak will commit to a new deal, despite growing interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Isak, who netted an impressive 23 goals in the Premier League last season, has become a key figure for Newcastle and is now in line to become the highest-paid player at the club.

While Liverpool have been monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation, any potential move would hinge on the player’s desire to leave St. James’ Park.

Newcastle have reiterated that they have not received any formal contact or offer from Liverpool regarding the player.

The club is now focused on keeping their top scorer as they prepare for the 2025/26 football season.
