Newcastle United is making a strong move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike as the club looks to bolster its attack for the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, has drawn plenty of attention in this summer’s transfer window.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms that Newcastle is leading the charge to sign the French striker. Other Premier League sides, including Liverpool and Chelsea, have also shown interest, having held initial discussions in June.
Ekitike’s availability has sparked further interest outside England. Saudi Arabian clubs Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah have also made inquiries in recent weeks. However, Romano has made it clear: “His priority remains Europe.”
While Manchester United are also in the picture as they search for a new striker, Newcastle is currently in the strongest position to land the talented forward. The Magpies view Ekitike as a potential long-term asset who can make a major impact at St James’ Park.
