Newcastle United have identified Dusan Vlahovic as a potential replacement for Swedish-Eritrean striker Alexander Isak.
According to reports in the Italian media, the Magpies are keeping a close eye on the Juventus striker as they prepare for the possibility of losing Isak during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Isak, who is having an outstanding campaign in the 2024/25 football season, has attracted interest from a host of the top clubs in Europe.
It is believed that he is the priority target of English Premier League side Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta keen on securing his services to bolster his squad for next season.
To prepare for the potential exit of the Swede, Newcastle United officials are also searching the market. After identifying a few strikers, the club believes Vlahovic stands tall and will want to negotiate for him if Isak leaves.
Meanwhile, Juventus are understood to be open to negotiations for Vlahovic, whose contract runs until June 2026.
The Italian Serie A giants are reportedly keen to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer and have placed an initial valuation of €40 million on the forward.
While things are not very straightforward now, things will become clearer at the end of the season.
