Newcastle United are interested in signing Nigerian international Victor Boniface in the summer transfer window.
The Super Eagles striker in the last two seasons has impressed with his performances for Bayer Leverkusen.
He was a key man for the club last season, helping the team to clinch a historic German Bundesliga title.
Although Boniface has not been in his best form this season, he is still a transfer target of a number of clubs in Europe.
Newcastle United have been monitoring the forward for a while and want to secure his services.
In the winter transfer window, Boniface came close to moving to the Saudi Pro League, but the reported big-money move did not materialise.
Ahead of the summer transfer window, more clubs are expected to line up for the Nigerian.
As things stand now, Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Victor Boniface.
Bayer Leverkusen are open to selling the striker but would demand around 50 million euros.
