English Premier League side Newcastle United have set their sights on signing German forward of Nigerian descent, Karim Adeyemi.
The attacker has found renewed form since Niko Kovač took over as Dortmund manager.
His impressive performances in the latter part of the 2024/25 football season have reignited interest from top clubs across Europe.
Adeyemi’s pace and versatility have caught the attention of Newcastle, who are actively exploring alternatives after hitting a roadblock in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga.
According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle made a €53 million bid for Elanga, which was turned down.
With talks currently stalled, the Magpies are assessing backup options, with Adeyemi now on their radar.
He is one of four players being considered as part of the club’s shortlist. Others include Johan Bakayoko (PSV Eindhoven), Mohammed Kudus (West Ham United), and Malick Fofana (Olympique Lyonnais).
While Newcastle are yet to finalise any decision, a renewed attempt for Elanga remains on the table.
Karim Adeyemi, 23, scored seven goals and provided six assists after making 25 appearances in the German Bundesliga last season.
Newcastle United are confident he will be a good addition to the team if his services are secured.
