Newcastle United coach Eddie Howe breaks silence after losing Alexander Isak to Liverpool

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has broken following Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool in the recently concluded summer transfer window.

The Swedish-Eritrean attacker secured a move to the Premier League giants on transfer deadline day, penning a long-term deal with the Reds.

Newcastle United’s effort to extend Isak’s contract futile, as the forward completed a late summer move to Liverpool.

However, Eddie Howe has opened up on his relationship with Isak, admitting changes amid the Swedish striker’s desire to leave the club.

Prior to his departure, Eddie Howe had a good relationship with Isak and genuinely enjoyed working together.

“The moment he went on strike our relationship did change. I think that was probably a turning point in our relationship. Communication became difficult from that point onwards. I won’t go into any more detail than that. I would say Alex was very much part of that [our success] and loved his time here, so I don’t think that was the issue. I think the issue for him was more when the other club came there, that then changed his thought process,” Howe admitted.

With club football returning this weekend, Isak could make his debut for Liverpool, who has hundred percent record in the Premier League after three straight wins.
