Newcastle United have set their sights on Fiorentina’s Moise Kean as a prime target for the upcoming transfer window, particularly if Alexander Isak departs, according to reports from Calciomercato.
The Magpies have reportedly initiated discussions with Kean’s representatives as they explore their options for bolstering their attacking line.
Kean, who has Ivorian roots but represents Italy at the international level, previously had an underwhelming spell in the Premier League with Everton, where he struggled to make a lasting impact.
However, since moving to Fiorentina, he has enjoyed a resurgence in form, becoming a crucial figure in the club’s attacking setup.
The 24-year-old striker has a release clause of €52 million in his contract, a figure that Newcastle are currently assessing.
This clause, which was inserted at Kean’s insistence, will be active for a short window from July 1 to 15, providing interested clubs with a brief opportunity to secure his services without negotiating a transfer fee.
Kean’s performances this season have strengthened his case as a top-tier forward, having netted 20 goals and provided three assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
His ability to play as both a central striker and a wide forward makes him an attractive option for Newcastle, who are looking to add versatility to their attacking options.
While Newcastle’s pursuit depends heavily on Isak’s potential exit, Kean’s availability on the market could spark interest from other English clubs as well, with Arsenal said to be monitoring him.
