NEWCASTLE: CHEICK TIOTÉ SHOULD EXTEND

Cheick Ismael Tioté, the Ivorian international who has been with Newcastle since August 2010, is set to extend his contract with the English club. Tioté, a crucial player in the Magpies squad, has proven himself indispensable in his defensive midfielder role. Newcastle’s manager, Allan Pardew, has confirmed that the club values Tioté highly and sees him as a key part of their future plans.

“Tioté is an essential player for Newcastle, and he demonstrates every weekend that he has an impact on the team’s play. Tioté Cheick is one of the players we are relying on to build the club’s project,” stated Pardew.

Currently under contract with Newcastle until 2017, Tioté had previously extended his contract in February 2011. Throughout this season, he has featured in 24 matches, starting in 22 of them.
