Newcastle agree €40m deal to sign Monaco midfielder Aladji Bamba

Newcastle United have reached an agreement worth more than €40m (£33.8m), including bonuses, to sign highly rated AS Monaco midfielder Aladji Bamba.

The 20-year-old French-Guinean has been granted permission to travel to England to undergo a medical and complete what is expected to be a long-term contract with the Premier League club.

Bamba, who was born in Blois, central France, and has Guinean roots, is regarded as one of the most promising young midfielders in Ligue 1 and is a France youth international.
