New Algerian Football Federation leadership to hold first meeting

New Algerian Football Federation leadership to hold first meeting

The newly elected Federal Bureau of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is set to hold its first official meeting on Monday, March 24, at the National Technical Center of Sidi Moussa.

This session will mark the beginning of Walid Sadi’s tenure as president and will serve as a platform to outline the strategic direction of Algerian football over the next four years.

Defining roles and setting priorities

A key agenda item will be the allocation of responsibilities among the members of the newly formed Federal Bureau.

Sadi, who was elected to lead the federation, is expected to use this meeting to set the tone for his presidency, emphasizing reforms and development programs aimed at strengthening both domestic and international football initiatives.

One of the highlights of the meeting will be the presentation of a comprehensive restructuring plan by the national technical director, Ali Moucer.

His proposal is expected to introduce a new framework for the growth of football at all levels in Algeria, from grassroots development to elite competition.

This plan is seen as a crucial step in revitalizing the country’s footballing infrastructure and ensuring long-term success for both club and national teams.

A crucial moment for Algerian football

The timing of the meeting is particularly significant, as it comes just a day before a critical World Cup qualifier.

On March 25, Algeria will face Mozambique at the Hocine-Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou in the final match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

With the national team aiming to secure a place in the tournament, the discussions at the FAF meeting could have immediate implications for the future of Algerian football.

Sadi’s leadership begins at a time when Algerian football faces a series of challenges, including performance expectations for the national team, improving domestic league standards, and fostering youth development.

His ability to implement effective reforms will be closely watched by football stakeholders across the country.

As the new FAF administration takes its first steps, all eyes will be on the strategies and decisions that emerge from this crucial meeting, setting the course for the future of Algerian football.
