Raja Casablanca is reportedly eyeing Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi as a potential replacement for Ricardo Sá Pinto, whose departure was confirmed on Friday, December 21.
However, securing Nabi’s services presents significant challenges due to contractual obligations.
According to reports from Le360sport, Nabi, currently under contract with South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs, is a leading candidate for the managerial role.
The 48-year-old, who previously enjoyed success with Morocco’s AS FAR Rabat, is said to be keen on the opportunity to lead the Green Eagles.
However, his release clause—a payment equivalent to one year’s salary—poses a substantial obstacle.
“Without the payment of this compensation, his arrival at the Greens for the rest of the season remains compromised,” the outlet reported.
Nabi joined Kaizer Chiefs in July after an impressive tenure with FAR Rabat, where he guided the team to a strong campaign.
At the South African club, his record has been mixed, with three wins, three draws, and three defeats in the league, leaving the team in sixth place.
Despite this, Raja Casablanca’s management sees promise in Nabi’s profile.
The club, however, appears reluctant to meet the financial demands of his release clause, which could hinder negotiations.
As Raja Casablanca searches for a new leader to guide them through the remainder of the season, it remains to be seen whether the Tunisian coach’s potential appointment can overcome these financial hurdles. For now, Nabi’s future—and that of the Green Eagles—hangs in the balance.
