Italian Serie A champions SSC Napoli have rejected a €55 million bid from Galatasaray for the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
The Italians are sticking to their 70 million euros demand and are reluctant to lower the price for the Super Eagles sensation.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal previously came closest to matching Napoli’s demands.
The club reportedly reached a basic agreement to pay the full €75 million fee and offered Osimhen an eye-watering €40 million per year salary.
Despite the massive package, the Nigerian striker declined the offer, opting to keep his options open.
Meanwhile, Juventus appear to be falling out of the race due to the astronomical figures involved.
With Napoli unwilling to compromise and foreign clubs ready to spend big, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the Bianconeri to remain serious contenders in the pursuit of Osimhen.
As it stands, the Nigerian striker’s future is uncertain despite interest from several clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
