Napoli are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa over a new and improved long-term contract.

The Cameroonian international has become a vital figure under head coach Antonio Conte this season, maintaining his status as one of Serie A’s most consistent performers.

Anguissa, who joined Napoli permanently from Fulham in 2022 after a successful loan spell, has been instrumental in the team’s midfield structure, combining physical dominance with technical control.

According to reports from TMW, Napoli are ready to raise Anguissa’s annual salary to around €4 million, a figure that would make him one of the club’s top earners.

His current deal runs until 2026, but the club are eager to extend and reward his contributions.

Conte has frequently praised the 29-year-old’s impact but believes he still has room to grow.

“He’s a complete midfielder, but I know he can reach another level,” Conte was quoted as saying earlier this season.

Serie A chief executive Luigi De Servio also lauded Anguissa’s influence, describing him as “the embodiment of the modern box-to-box player.”

“If there’s one player who truly represents intensity and drive in both halves, it’s the Cameroonian,” De Servio said.

“His power, work rate, and ability to surge into attacking areas have been decisive for Napoli’s success.”

Anguissa has scored three goals in October alone, earning him his second Serie A Player of the Month award this year.

His performances have helped Napoli maintain a strong domestic push while balancing their European commitments.
