Napoli have reportedly turned down a swap deal proposal from Manchester United for the acquisition of Nigeria international Victor Osimhen in the summer.
Osimhen is set for a permanent departure from Napoli in the summer, with Manchester United and other top European clubs showing keen interest in the former Serie A goal king.
The Nigeria international is currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray after failed move to Chelsea and Al Hilal last summer.
Manchester United, who are desperate to sign a prolific attacker are said to be interested in swapping Rasmus Højlund for Osimhen in the summer.
The Red Devils United planned to offer Napoli 40 million euros and Rasmus Højlund in exchange for Osimhen, but the “Partenopei” are not interested.
The Serie A giants will only allow Osimhen to leave in a cash deal ahead of the summer transfer window.
A swap involving Joshua Zirkzee intrigued the team’s head coach Antonio Conte, but Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to complete the transfer for 75 million euros, which is the release clause of the Nigeria star.
The 26-year-old has been impressive for Galatasaray, scoring 20 goals and providing 5 assists from 27 appearances since joining the club last summer.
