Former Parma general manager Enrico Fedele has dismissed speculation linking Nigerian international Ademola Lookman with a move to Napoli, despite reported interest from top European clubs such as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking on Tele A’s Fuorigioco program, Fedele downplayed the possibility of Lookman joining the Serie A side, questioning the basis of the ongoing transfer rumors. “I don’t see why these rumors are circulating,” he said in an interview with Area Napoli.
Lookman, who has been a key player for Atalanta this season, has drawn attention from several elite clubs, including Arsenal.
However, Fedele insists Napoli is not pursuing the winger and instead suggested that the club’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is focused on different targets.
“I have over fifty years of experience in football and strong connections in the industry. From what I know, Manna is actually following another player—Solet.
Believe me, he’s really strong,” Fedele added, referring to the Austrian defender Oumar Solet, who plays for Red Bull Salzburg.
Lookman, 26, has been in impressive form for Atalanta, contributing significantly to the club’s domestic and European campaigns.
His performances have fueled speculation about a high-profile transfer, but according to Fedele, Napoli is not among the clubs actively pursuing the Nigerian forward.
While the summer transfer window remains unpredictable, Fedele’s remarks suggest that Napoli’s priorities lie elsewhere, potentially ruling out a move for Lookman to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
