Napoli monitor Ivory Coast international Wilfried Singo as defensive reinforcement option
Italian club SSC Napoli are closely following the situation of defender Wilfried Singo as they assess potential reinforcements for their defence ahead of the next transfer window.
The Serie A side are reportedly exploring several options across the European market in their search for additional strength in central defence.
Among the players attracting attention is the Ivory Coast international currently playing for Galatasaray.
According to the Italian daily Il Mattino, Napoli are keeping a close watch on Singo’s situation and could consider making a move should the opportunity arise.
The 25-year-old defender is under contract with Galatasaray until June 2030, a long-term agreement that reflects the Turkish club’s commitment to the player.
Reports indicate that the deal includes a release clause valued at around €60m.
While the amount represents a significant investment, it remains within the financial reach of Napoli, who have shown a willingness in the past to invest in strengthening their defensive line.
Singo has continued to establish himself as an important figure for the Istanbul-based club during the current campaign.
Across all competitions this season, he has made 21 appearances, scoring once and providing three assists.
His performances have helped maintain his reputation as a versatile defender capable of contributing both defensively and in attacking phases.
According to the football statistics platform Transfermarkt, Singo’s current market value is estimated at €25m.
Financially, the Ivorian international earns an annual salary of around €8m, which is equivalent to approximately 5.2bn FCFA.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s focus will soon turn to European competition.
The Turkish side are preparing for the second leg of their round-of-16 encounter in the UEFA Champions League, where they are scheduled to face Liverpool FC.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Napoli’s continued monitoring of Singo highlights the growing interest surrounding the defender, whose performances in Turkey have attracted attention from clubs across Europe.
