Napoli are reportedly in talks to sign German forward of Senegalese descent, Leroy Sane.
Sources in Italy have revealed that the Italian Serie A champions want to sign the Bayern Munich forward this summer as part of efforts to convince manager Antonio Conte to stay.
The contract of the former Manchester City star is set to expire on June 30, 2025.
Bayern Munich, before the 2024/25 football season came to an end, offered Leroy Sane a contract extension deal.
The club in the offer planned to pay Sane a maximum of 15 million euros per annum. However, the player, led by his representatives, has been pushing for more, asking for a higher basic salary.
This has resulted in an impasse as far as the contract extension deal is concerned.
On Wednesday, Bayern’s Sporting Director Max Eberl led a meeting with Pini Zahavi to try and resolve the standoff.
Unfortunately, no agreement could be reached at the end of the meeting. As a result, Leroy Sane’s future at Bayern Munich is increasingly becoming uncertain.
Amid the player’s uncertain future, Napoli have stepped in and could sign Sane on a free transfer when his contract expires next month.
