The climatic conditions expected in Ivory Coast, Namibia’s national football team, the Brave Warriors, wasted no time and dove into their training regime with zeal. Led by coach Collin Benjamin, the team arrived in Ghana and promptly commenced their first training session at Ajax Park in Accra.*
With just three days before their inaugural test, a friendly match against Legon Cities FC scheduled for January 2, the Brave Warriors are keen on honing their skills and building team synergy for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.
The choice of Ghana for the training camp reflects the Namibian Football Federation’s strategic approach to familiarizing the team with conditions akin to those anticipated in Ivory Coast.
Collin Benjamin, expressing the team’s agenda, stated, “We will have friendly matches with two local Ghanaian clubs and an international friendly match also before leaving for AFCON.”
The identity of the second local club remains undisclosed, but negotiations are reportedly underway for an international friendly match against Ghana.
The Brave Warriors, known for their tenacity and resilience, will intensify their preparations in Ghana, including additional friendly matches, to fine-tune their strategy.
The team is expected to leave for Ivory Coast on January 10, 2023, well-prepared and ready to compete in the prestigious AFCON 2023.
