Nacional bolster attack with Cameroon striker Abdel Kader Njoya

Cameroon centre-forward Abdel Kader Njoya has joined Portuguese club Nacional from Hegelmann, completing a move to Liga Portugal on 4 September 2026.

The 22-year-old arrives after a spell with Hegelmann, where he had played since moving from Cameroonian club Fortuna du Mfou in February 2024. That earlier switch was completed as a free transfer.

Njoya’s move to Nacional takes him from Lithuania’s Toplyga to Portugal’s top division. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the latest deal, and the length of his contract has not been announced.

The striker has already featured twice in UEFA Conference League qualifying this season, making two starts and playing 135 minutes. He did not score or provide an assist in those appearances.

Born in Yaounde on 5 October 2003, Njoya stands 1.86m tall and is predominantly right-footed. His listed role is centre-forward, giving Nacional another option in the central attacking position.

Njoya’s time at Hegelmann followed his departure from Fortuna du Mfou, the only previous club recorded in his senior career history. He now begins his first spell in Portuguese football with Nacional.

The transfer was registered on 4 September, with Njoya becoming a Nacional player after his move from Hegelmann.
