As reported by our colleagues at DZFOOT, Nabil Bentaleb, the talented young midfielder from the English club Tottenham, has made the decision to join the Algerian national team, the Fennecs. The Algerian Football Federation, in their efforts to ascertain his future intentions, has successfully persuaded the young Franco-Algerian to represent Algeria. This development brings positive news and serves as a valuable addition to the Algerian squad, which is gearing up for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Having made three appearances in the Premier League this season, along with a start in the Cup, Nabil Bentaleb capitalized on opportunities arising from absences to showcase his skills with the Spurs’ first team. In October of the previous year, he committed to a 5-year contract extension with the London club.
Although he was a French under-19 international, Bentaleb, who was initially trained in Lille but not retained by the Mastiffs, is now assured of his international future. His impressive performance of scoring 4 goals in 14 matches during a six-month stint with the Tottenham reserve at the end of the last season further solidifies his commitment to represent Algeria on the international stage.
