Nabil Bentaleb, teammate of Togolese star Emmanuel Adebayor at Tottenham Hotspur, has gradually made a name for himself within the Spurs squad, particularly under the management of Tim Sherwood following the departure of André Villas-Boas. Despite being just 19 years old, Bentaleb has already made 10 appearances for the team. However, his journey wasn’t without its challenges, especially considering his decision to represent the Algerian national team.
In an interview with the newspaper Le Buteur, Bentaleb revealed that his initial months at Tottenham were the toughest. He struggled with the language barrier, having difficulty understanding the coach’s instructions and making friends outside of football. However, he expressed gratitude to several French players at the club, including Hugo Lloris, Younès Kaboul, and William Gallas, who provided invaluable support and advice during his adaptation period.
Bentaleb’s journey to Tottenham began in 2012 when he joined the club after playing for Lille’s reserve team. Despite the initial challenges, he has since become an integral part of the Spurs squad.
