Nabil Aberdin: FCV Farul secure Morocco-France defender after FK Sochi exit

Morocco-France centre-back Nabil Aberdin has joined Romanian SuperLiga club FCV Farul from FK Sochi on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old defender completed the move on 1 September 2026, ending his time in Russia and moving into Romanian football. Aberdin is 1.92m tall and prefers his right foot.

Aberdin arrives at Farul after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Al-Jazira. That temporary spell ended on 30 June, when he returned to FK Sochi before switching clubs two months later.

He joined Sochi from Getafe in February 2025 for €300,000. The move followed a period with Getafe’s reserve side, for whom he had arrived from Rayo Majadahonda on a free transfer in July 2023.

Before making that switch, Aberdin spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Unionistas CF, returning to Rayo Majadahonda at the end of the season. His earlier career also included a spell with Paracuellos after leaving Aravaca’s under-19 team in 2021.

Aberdin’s arrival gives Farul a new option in central defence as the club competes in Romania’s top flight. He has been listed with a market value of €500,000, while his highest recorded value was €800,000 during his time at Sochi.

The defender was born in Paris and holds Moroccan and French nationality. His move to Farul was registered at the start of September, with the Romanian club becoming the latest destination in a career that has already taken him through Spain, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and now Romania.

Aberdin has completed a free transfer from FK Sochi to FCV Farul.
