Al-Masry Club witnessed a puzzling incident as the Nigerian professional player Vibo Akim, a shining star in the first team, vanished in the past hours.
Akim, a standout performer for Al-Masry during the current season, showcasing tactical flexibility and remarkable technical prowess, has become a sought-after target in the winter transfer market.
The Nigerian professional gathered his belongings and mysteriously disappeared, shutting off his phone, leaving the club’s management unable to reach him in the recent hours.
Sources from within the club, speaking to “Al-Masry Al-Youm,” revealed that Akim was excluded from the team’s roster in the match against Al Ittihad Alexandria in the Round of 16 of the Egyptian Professional League Cup.
The decision was made by Ahmed Abdelraouf due to the player’s alleged failure to follow instructions, leading to a rift between the player and the coaching staff.
As of now, the club remains uncertain about Akim’s participation in the upcoming training session scheduled for Wednesday.
“Al-Masry Al-Youm” attempted to contact informed sources within the club, but they declined to comment on the crisis.
Another source hinted at a situation of “rebellion,” especially with several clubs expressing interest in acquiring Akim’s services during the winter transfer window.
Furthermore, it has been learned that Akim has attracted attention from major clubs such as Zamalek, Al Ahly, and the recently promoted ZED, all competing for his signature in the Egyptian Premier League.
Al-Masry currently occupies the thirteenth position in the Egyptian Premier League standings, with 10 points, trailing behind the fourteenth-placed Arab Contractors by a margin of 3 points, who are currently facing relegation to the professional league.
