Nantes, with Egyptian star Mustafa Mohamed in its ranks, secured a valuable victory over hosts Lorient with a lone goal during Saturday evening’s match at the Stade du Moustoir- Yves Allainmat, as part of the 23rd round of the French league.
Mustafa Mohamed featured in the starting lineup for the Canaries but played only one half of the match due to an injury sustained during the game.
The national team’s newest striker showed attacking prowess against the opponent’s goal, but his attempts were fruitless in the first half of the match, which ended in a scoreless draw between the two teams.
In the 39th minute, the “Anaconda” suffered an injury, prompting the medical team to intervene after a harsh tackle, following his skillful dribble past one of Lorient’s players.
Between the halves, Jocelyn Gourvennec made a substitution, with Mustafa Mohamed exiting the field and Tino Kadewere replacing him due to the injury.
The lone goal of the match was scored by Jean-Charles Castelletto in the 49th minute, assisted by Nigerian Moses Simon.
With this result, Nantes raised its tally to 25 points, climbing to the twelfth position in the French league table, while Lorient remained at 22 points in the sixteenth position.
