Mustafa El-Shami, the president of Mahalla Club, has acknowledged the evident struggles stemming from fixture congestion and the merging of seasons in the Egyptian league.
He stressed the lack of viable solutions to address this crisis, with constant criticism directed at the league system without decisive resolutions to alleviate the issues plaguing Egyptian football.
Speaking on the “Box to Box” program aired on ETC satellite channel, El-Shami stated, “The proposed league system change for the upcoming season in Egyptian football is commendable, but certain conditions must be met for its execution.”
Elaborating further, he highlighted the stadium infrastructure issues faced by numerous clubs, affecting the majority of league teams.
Additionally, he addressed the lack of motivation among some clubs, particularly those in the bottom four positions, emphasizing the fundamental nature of competition among all teams.
“It is imperative to find comprehensive solutions to the issue of season merging in the Egyptian league.
There has been no communication with the Clubs Association, and there may be future meetings with all teams,” El-Shami emphasized.
Regarding Mahalla’s recent defeat against Al Ahly, El-Shami attributed the substantial loss to defensive errors, positional misalignments, and absences within the team.
However, he maintained confidence in the team’s coach, Ahmed Abdelraouf, and the players’ ability to secure crucial points to remain in the league.
Furthermore, El-Shami recognized Al Ahly as a formidable team with exceptional players, singling out Wessam Abu Ali as a standout performer.
He extended his well wishes to Mahalla’s striker, Hossam Ashraf, who has displayed commendable performances throughout the current season.
