The Royal Moroccan Football Federation handed over the municipal stadium in Al-Fuqih Ben Saleh to the city’s clubs following its renovation with state-of-the-art artificial turf.
The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday in the presence of Abdellah Abroun, the head of the infrastructure committee at the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, along with the mayor of Al-Fuqih Ben Saleh, local authorities, and prominent sports figures.
This initiative forms part of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s project to modernize the infrastructure of local sports clubs, with the goal of enhancing the sport across the Kingdom of Morocco.
Rahal Mkaoui, the mayor of Al-Fuqih Ben Saleh, described the move as positive towards improving training and competition conditions for local clubs.
He emphasized the importance of providing pitches equipped with artificial turf, which contributes to developing players’ skills and maintaining regular training sessions.
Furthermore, Mkaoui highlighted that the installation of artificial turf at the municipal stadium increases its attractiveness and stimulates public interest in local sports.
This, in turn, assists clubs in organizing more sporting activities and matches regularly.
He underscored that this achievement represents a significant step in elevating local football and enhancing its standing both locally and nationally.
Moreover, the municipal official noted that artificial turf is an environmentally friendly option as it requires less water compared to natural grass, contributing to water conservation in a time when many regions, including Al-Fuqih Ben Saleh, are facing water shortages.
It’s worth mentioning that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has handed over several football fields to its affiliated clubs as part of its strategy to enhance the national clubs’ infrastructure.
These fields have been equipped with state-of-the-art artificial turf, providing an ideal environment for training and matches while reducing costs and promoting sustainability.
