MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns sells out in hours
The MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will be played in front of a full house after all tickets for Saturday’s match at Moses Mabhida Stadium sold out within hours.
The Buccaneers confirmed the sell-out on Friday, with supporters responding to the prospect of a major domestic cup final between two of South Africa’s leading clubs.
The match in Durban kicks off at 18:00 on Saturday, 10 October, as the two pre-tournament favourites meet in the MTN8 for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
Both sides will be competing for Top-Eight supremacy when they renew their rivalry in what will be the first domestic cup final of the campaign. The speed at which the tickets were purchased underlines the scale of interest in the encounter.
No valid tickets remain available online, and there will be no further sales at Moses Mabhida Stadium or through physical outlets.
Supporters who did not secure tickets may only obtain them through digital transfers completed online via OpenTickets. Fans are also being advised to be cautious, as no other ticket sales will take place at the venue or in shops.
The final will be broadcast live by SuperSport PSL and SABC 1. Orlando Pirates will also provide updates through the club’s official social media channels.
Fans with valid digital tickets have been urged to arrive at the stadium as early as possible to avoid delays before kick-off.
