Burkina Faso attacker Cyriaque Irié has expressed his excitement after completing his move to SC Freiburg.
The teenager sealed his move to the German Bundesliga club on Monday, May 19.
Speaking in his first official interview, Cyriaque Irié said he is confident he will have the chance to continue his development at his new club.
“The move to Freiburg is great for my development. The club and coach Julian Schuster want to develop young players. That’s very important to me,” Cyriaque Irié said.
He continued, “In my first conversations with the coach, we focused on Freiburg’s style of play, defending together, and teamwork. I know it will be very tough, but that’s normal. I’m very young and will listen to the advice of those in charge.”
At SC Freiburg, Cyriaque has signed a five-year contract with the club, keeping him at the Europa-Park Stadion until 2030.
The move marks a significant step in the young winger’s career, as he prepares to play top-flight football in Germany and compete in next season’s UEFA Europa League.
