Moustafa Moustafa: Former Vitesse Midfielder Leaves Dutch Side to Become Free Agent

Egyptian-German midfielder Moustafa Moustafa has left Vitesse Arnhem and is now without a club after his move away from the Dutch side was completed on 6 July 2026 on a free transfer.

The 22-year-old central midfielder departs Vitesse with a current market value listed at 100,000, having spent the 2025-26 campaign with the Arnhem club in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. His latest valuation represents a slight decrease from a peak of 125,000 during his time in the Netherlands, underlining how his stock has fluctuated in recent months.

Moustafa joined Vitesse from Borussia Monchengladbach II on 1 July 2025, stepping out of German regional football to continue his development in the Dutch game. The move came after several years within the Monchengladbach system, where he advanced from youth level to the clubs under-23 side.

Born in Banha on 15 February 2004, Moustafa holds both Egyptian and German nationality and is listed at 1.83m tall. A right-footed player whose main position is central midfield, he came through the youth ranks at MSV Duisburg before moving to Monchengladbachs academy in 2013, progressing through their under-17 and under-19 teams.

His market value rose sharply during his spell with Borussia Monchengladbach II, climbing from 10,000 to 50,000 between 2023 and early 2024, and remained stable before his transfer to Vitesse. The subsequent increase to 125,000 later in 2025 reflected his growing profile, before the most recent adjustment back to 100,000 in May 2026.

Moustafas departure from Vitesse brings an end to his first spell in Dutch football and closes a long association with the German development pathway that shaped his early career.
