Moussa N’Diaye, the Senegalese defender currently plying his trade at Anderlecht, has caught the attention of Premier League side Nottingham Forest as the January transfer window heats up.
However, despite the interest, N’Diaye has expressed a preference for a return to La Liga over making the move to England.
Since joining Anderlecht in 2022, N’Diaye has established himself as a key figure in the Belgian club’s defence, earning a regular starting spot from September 2024.
While he has yet to score this season, his defensive performances have played a pivotal role in the team’s success in the Jupiler Pro League.
“I’m in a very good dynamic, I hope to continue. Last season, an injury kept me off the field for five months.
When I returned, my replacement had imposed himself. I worked hard to regain my place,” N’Diaye reflected in an interview with Dsports.sn.
Before his time in Belgium, N’Diaye’s career took him to Spain, where he spent time at Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia academy after signing for the Catalan giants from the Aspire Academy in Senegal in 2020.
However, his time at Barcelona didn’t go as planned. N’Diaye explained, “Ronald Koeman really liked me, but after two months, he was replaced by Xavi.
With the arrival of Marcos Alonso, there were three left-backs, and I had no more room.”
Since moving to Anderlecht, N’Diaye has regained his form and caught the eye of Nottingham Forest, who are reportedly in talks to secure his services.
While the prospect of a Premier League move is intriguing, N’Diaye has made it clear that his heart is set on a return to Spain.
“There are discussions, but I leave that to my agent. I remain focused on my performances.
As for the championship, my favorite remains the Spanish. I would really like to go back there,” he admitted.
With his future still uncertain, N’Diaye’s next move could shape his career, but for now, the 22-year-old remains committed to his current form and is determined to make the most of his time in Belgium.
