Moussa Guel: Right winger linked with move to North Macedonia’s Tikves

Moussa Guel has completed a move from Bourg-en-Bresse to North Macedonian side Tikves on a free transfer, sealing a switch that takes the Ivorian-French right winger out of French football and into the Prva liga. The 26-year-old arrives in Kavadarci with a current market valuation of €200k and begins his contract on 2026-02-09, with the deal running until 2026-06-30.

The transfer ends Guel’s short spell at Bourg-en-Bresse, who compete in France’s Championnat National, and marks the latest step in a career that has steadily traversed multiple tiers of European football. Although the move involves no transfer fee, Tikves are effectively picking up a player in his prime years, capable of operating across the attack but primarily used as a right winger and preferring his right foot.

Guel’s journey to North Macedonia has been built on a succession of moves across France and Turkey. Developed in the FC Lorient system, he progressed from Lorient’s U19s to the B team and then the senior side before a series of loans and permanent transfers took him to Quevilly-Rouen Métropole, Valenciennes FC, Red Star FC and USL Dunkerque. A switch to Samsunspor in Türkiye added an international dimension to his club career, before he returned to France with Paris 13 Atletico and then Bourg-en-Bresse.

His market value history reflects the fluctuations of that path, peaking at around €500k during his time at Valenciennes and later stabilising in the €100k–€200k range after spells with Red Star, Samsunspor and Dunkerque. The most recent update placed him at €200k while at Bourg-en-Bresse, underlining that Tikves are acquiring a player still considered a solid asset at Prva liga level.

Born in Abidjan and holding both Côte d’Ivoire and French nationality, Guel adds an international profile to Tikves’ squad. He also brings experience from Ligue 2, the Championnat National and the Turkish setup, exposure that could prove valuable in a North Macedonian league increasingly open to foreign talent. His height of 1.71m and background as a wide attacker suggest Tikves will look to use him for direct running, close control in tight spaces and one‑v‑one situations on the flank.

The move also alters the trajectory of his career geographically. Instead of remaining within the French pyramid, where he has spent the bulk of his professional life, Guel now continues abroad after his earlier stint in Türkiye. For Tikves, competing in the Prva liga, this is a chance to integrate a player familiar with different tactical environments and pressure levels, from relegation battles to promotion pushes.

While the transfer itself carries no fee, its significance for both club and player lies in opportunity rather than cost. Guel now has the platform to reassert himself as a key attacking figure in a top-flight setting, and if he adapts quickly in North Macedonia, this contract period could become a springboard for further moves and a stronger reputation on the European stage.
