Mounir Jaouani has been officially named as the new head coach of Kénitra Athletic Club (KAC), following the dismissal of Belgian manager Patrick Douweld.
The announcement came on Saturday, marking a new chapter for the club known as “Fares Sepo.”
In a statement released by the club, KAC confirmed that extensive discussions had taken place between Jaouani and the team’s management to align their vision for the future.
The talks were led by club president Hakim Doumou, who successfully convinced Jaouani to take the reins of the struggling side.
“After several in-depth discussions, Mounir Jaouani accepted the offer presented by Hakim Doumou, president of Kénitra Athletic Club,” the statement read.
It further noted that Jaouani will lead his first training session with the team at the start of next week.
Jaouani, a seasoned figure in Moroccan football, steps into his new role with a wealth of experience and the hopes of revitalizing a squad seeking improved results.
His appointment follows a period of underperformance under Douweld, whose departure signals the club’s determination to change course.
The club concluded its statement with words of encouragement for both the new coach and the team: “Good luck to KAC and Coach Jaouani… Always KAC, and may God grant us success.”
As Kénitra AC prepares for this transition, fans are hopeful that Jaouani’s leadership will usher in a new era of success for the historic club.
With his first training session just days away, anticipation is building for what the future holds under his stewardship.
